Measures and investigations to assess exposure in the workplace

Sampling and analysis to evaluate the presence of chemical contaminants, dust and airborne asbestos, to support the assessment of occupational exposure and preventive measures.

monitoring activities in the workplace

The investigations are defined considering the substances used, the work carried out and the ways in which agents can spread to the environment and reach workers.

Chemical contaminants

Sampling and analysis to identify and quantify the chemical agents present in the air during the performance of the various work activities.

Indoor air quality

Environmental checks to verify the presence of airborne substances and reconstruct their distribution in workstations and work areas.

Airborne dust

Measurements aimed at evaluating the concentration of dust generated by processing, material handling and other stages of the production process.

PM10 and PM2.5 fractions

Determination of particulate fractions present in the environment, useful for deepening the dimensional characteristics of airborne dust.

Amianto Aerodisperso

Sampling and analysis to check for the presence of asbestos fibers in the air of the workplace.

Company perimeter

Airborne asbestos controls along the perimeter of the plant, useful for evaluating the possible diffusion of fibers towards the surrounding areas.

The presence of an agent does not coincide with the exposure

Detecting a substance in the environment is not enough: it is necessary to understand in what conditions it is dispersed, who can come into contact with it and for how long.

The concentration of a contaminant can change during the day depending on the processing, the quantities used, the ventilation, the distance from the source and the effectiveness of the suction systems.

To obtain representative information, points and sampling times must be chosen by observing the production cycle and the tasks performed. The data is thus linked to the real conditions in which the exposure occurs.

The results can be compared with the applicable occupational exposure limit values used in the chemical risk assessment provided for by Legislative Decree 81/2008. They also allow you to verify the effectiveness of preventive measures and identify any situations to be investigated.

A comprehensive workplace safety support

The results of the monitoring describe the conditions of exposure, but must be read together with the tasks performed, at the time of stay, the equipment used and the prevention measures already present in the company.

Eurolab supports companies also in the drafting and updating of the risk assessment document and assessments dedicated to specific risks. These include chemical risk, noise, vibrations, microclimate, electromagnetic fields and other exposures related to work activities.

The integration between field measures and consultancy makes it possible to define the level of risk, identify the priorities for intervention and plan the necessary actions to improve the protection of workers over time.
