Atmosphere emissions

Monitoring of emissions for industrial process control

Sampling and measures on conveyed flows, checks of combustion parameters and continuous assessments to support environmental checks and authorization requirements.

Emissions control activities

From the measurements carried out directly at the plant to the subsequent laboratory determinations, the monitoring is organized considering the production process, the emission point and the purpose of the control.

Conveyed emissions

Sampling and measurements on gaseous flows from chimneys, ducts and other emission points of industrial plants.

withdrawals at the point of emission

Activities carried out directly at the plant using specific equipment for the collection of samples intended for subsequent laboratory analyzes.

Total organic substances

Continuous evaluations of the SOT to control the progress of the organic substances present in the flows emitted during the operation of the plant.

Combustion parameters

Continuous measurements using electrochemical cells and infrared instrumentation to evaluate the main parameters related to combustion processes.

Mobile laboratories

Vehicles equipped with fixed and portable equipment allow you to carry out measurements and checks directly at the production plants.

Air quality

Urban and industrial air mapping by passive samplers, useful for assessing the presence and distribution of pollutants in the monitored area.

Measuring an emission also means observing the process

The result acquires value only if it is read together with the conditions under which the system was operating at the time of the check.

The composition of an emission may change in relation to the production phase, the load of the plant, the materials used and the operation of the abatement systems. A measure isolated from its context therefore risks offering an incomplete representation.

The monitoring must be planned by identifying the withdrawal point, the duration of the measures and the most representative moment of the production cycle. The operating conditions of the plant must also be recorded, so as to allow a correct interpretation of the results.

The comparison between analytical data and process parameters allows you to verify compliance with the applicable limits, recognize any anomalies and evaluate over time the effectiveness of the interventions adopted for the containment of emissions.

emissions in the various operating phases

periodic self-checks

Checks scheduled according to the frequencies and methods indicated in the authorization, to document the characteristics of the emissions produced by the plant over time.

fully operational

Measurements performed after the start of a new plant to verify its operation in the foreseen operating conditions and check the emissive values reached.

Process changes

Useful control campaigns when plants, used materials or production phases change that can affect the characteristics and quantity of emissions.

felling systems

monitoring aimed at evaluating the effectiveness of the devices installed to reduce pollutants and identify any changes in their performance.

From control to the management of prescriptions

The test report is only part of emission management. For each point, the parameters to be checked, the applicable limits, the frequency of the measurements and the operating conditions indicated in the authorization must be known.

Eurolab supports companies in reading prescriptions, planning self-controls and interpreting results. The comparison with the previous data also allows us to recognize variations that may depend on the production process, maintenance or abatement systems.

When plants, raw materials or processing cycles are modified, the consultancy support helps to assess the possible consequences on emissions and any obligations to be addressed, while maintaining technical aspects, documentation and company operations in alignment.
